Lomi lomi massage training coming to Phoenix, Arizona area in March 2010

Sacred Lomi will be providing a Hawaiian lomi lomi massage training workshop in Tempe, AZ just prior to the 2010 Aloha Festival. Sacred Lomi is the leader in Hawaiian Temple Bodywork and has taught this sacred form of lomi lomi massage at locations through out the world. Donna Jason of Sacred Lomi says that “it will be wonderful for people to come to the workshop and then be able to go to the Aloha Festival.”

The lomi lomi massage training is taught primarily by Tom Cochran, a master practitioner and teacher of Sacred Lomi: Hawaiian Temple Bodywork. The four day intensive course is designed to teach the physical techniques of performing a lomi lomi massage as well as the spiritual aspects of the ancient Hawaiian healing practice. The training is fully accredited by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and offers massage therapists 32 continuing education credits.

The training is open to anyone interested in this sacred practice – you do not have to be a massage therapist to attend. Cathy Ibach, owner of Hawaiian Experience Spa in Scottsdale attended the training with Sacred Lomi on Maui, HI in 2006. Cathy who is not a massage therapist credits the training with being her inspiration to open the popular Scottsdale day spa. “I found the training with Tom and Donna to be transformational. Lomi lomi is an incredible technique and the history and culture surrounding this art inspired my husband and me to open Hawaiian Experience Spa”, says Cathy.
